The 1920s Goth

WOMEN

Hats:
There are some easy ways to get the goth look of the 1920s. The easiest is the hat. Many patterns are out there for the simple "cap" style of the 1920s. Just simply sew that and add velvet ribbons or anything you consider beautiful to it. Here are some examples of the 1920s hats. These are great for lazy nights when you still want to look beautiful.

Dresses:
There were so many great fashions of the 1920s for women. Shopping through thrift stores you might be able to find a beautiful flapper dress. (I found one for $30.00!) Also Halloween costumes that come already assembled come in the Flapper costume. Another way to be a goth of the 1920s is remember the dress was almost mannish. Beads and long unflaring dresses are great for this style. With a hat you could complete the great styles of the 1920s. Also there are patterns to make the wide sleeved shirts. A button up poet's shirt, straight skirt with beads or a long scarf and a hat make you totally 1920s.

Sexy:
Never forget that the 1920s was about risque things. The younger generation doing so much of what their parents disaproved of. Glamour prevailed when the movies came out. The dress for evening could be so stunning and sexy. Also, nothing was more sexy than the black. Eyeliner, hair.... nails everything was becoming black and becoming worshipped as sexy.
